Corporate Setup & Compliance
Entity formation, banking, licensing, and compliance for international investors establishing a Botswana presence.
Enterprise Botswana
Setting Up Properly, the First Time
Establishing a corporate presence in Botswana is straightforward on paper. In practice, the steps that look administrative — incorporation, banking onboarding, sector licensing, tax registration — are where most international investors lose time and credibility. The Companies Act registers entities quickly. The banks open accounts slowly. The two timelines do not match, and the gap is where execution goes wrong.
Enterprise Botswana coordinates the setup end-to-end, sequenced so that each step prepares for the next. We prepare clients for the institutional realities — beneficial-ownership documentation under the Companies (Amendment) Act 2025 and the Financial Intelligence Act, source-of-funds evidence, resident director or signatory arrangements, and the documentation banks actually require, which is not always what the statute requires.
